Samsung's new
smartphone flagship has arrived - the Samsung Galaxy S5. Its 5.1-inch FHD Super
AMOLED screen delivers 432 ppi pixel density behind Corning Gorilla Glass 3,
offers the best viewing experience any smartphone can offer. With an IP67
certification, Samsung Galaxy S5 is dust and water resistant to a depth of up
to 1 meter for 30 minutes. According to Samsung, “The Galaxy S5 blends iconic
Samsung design with modern trends to appeal to a range of consumer tastes and
interests.” In other words, the Galaxy S5 looks a lot like its predecessor save
for its dimpled back panel and slightly larger chassis. It is an improvement
from Galaxy S4 looks wise for it has taken some elements from its predecessor
and adding in some bits from Galaxy Note 3.
The Samsung Galaxy S5
runs on a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset and a 2.5 GHz processor
with 2GB RAM. It may not have the best specs among smartphones out in the
market, however, it comes with new features that will both compare and rival
its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S4 and other smartphone flagships. It uses
the Download Booster Technology that allows you to use both LTE and Wi-Fi simultaneously,
giving you an unrivaled network experience. It also supports a healthier
lifestyle with the inclusion of the Heart Rate Sensor, which enables you to
measure your heart rate directly on your phone. The Fingerprint Scanner adds an
extra security, allowing you to unlock your phone and make faster and more
secure payments via PayPal with the swipe of your finger. Most of all, it uses
the Ultra Power Saving Mode to save and extend your battery life. This
innovative feature changes your screen to black and white and shuts down all
unnecessary features to greatly minimize battery consumption.
Samsung Galaxy S5 has
an expandable storage capacity using a MicroSD card of up to 128GB.
Furthermore, its battery is replaceable, which is a major plus to some people.
Samsung Galaxy S5 will
go on sale globally on April 11, 2014.
