As the most recent addition to HTC's Desire 8 series, the HTC
Desire 820 promises to offer a complete mobile experience at an affordable
price. You can be proud of its decent line of specs: a 5.5-inch display, a
64-bit octa-core processor, and an 8-megapixel front camera.
The phone will be rolled out later this month, however, the
company is yet to announce where the phone will be on sale and what is its
actual cost. At its launch, HTC spent most of its time on the design of the
820. It has a very slim built, with only 7.7mm thick, and weighing only 155g
(5.5 ounces). However, at 158mm long and 79mm wide, some may consider it too
big to use with one hand.
It comes in a range of bright colors with two-tone unibody
design, each having different color accents around the buttons, edging, and
camera lens. The Desire 820's design makes it totally different from the
serious luxury of the full metal body of the One M8.
The phone still has the traditional HTC "BoomSound"
speakers at the top and at the bottom of the display, though it may not be as
powerful as those on the One M8. The 5.5-inch screen has a 720p display, which
is pretty low density. It's running the latest HTC Sense 6 software, which
looks almost a lot like HTC's flagship One M8.
The HTC Desire 820 features an 8-megapixel front face camera,
which makes it the only phone so far that has the highest resolution for the
front-face camera. Various software features include digital makeup and ability
to morph two faces together -- now that sounds weird, don't you think? It's
13-megapixel rear camera is claimed to work great in low lighting environment.
Another thing HTC can boast about the Desire 820 is that it is
the first device in the world to be built with Qualcomm's newest 64-bit
octa-core processor. This processor is actually made up of two quad-core
processors -- a 1.2GHz and a 1GHz quad-core chips. A huge advantage of having
this phone is that it can handle multitasking like a breeze, and makes it fully
compatible for future Android updates like the upcoming Android L at the same
time.
When it comes to the phone's battery, it's powered with a
2,600mAh battery, giving its users up to 22 hours of talk time while on 3G.
Overall, the HTC Desire 820 is certainly something to watch out for, based on
all those tempting features the phone can offer. With HTC's Desire 820, selfie
has never been this clearer.
